There’s no denying that a dishwasher is one of the most convenient investments you can make for your home, especially if you have a big family or love to entertain. Is there anything worse than having to wash everything up by hand, after all? You often feel as though you’re there doing it for hours – and that’s not even taking into account the drying and putting away.
But there will most likely come a time when your appliance stops working as well as it did when you first bought it – and there are numerous problems that you’ll probably encounter at some point or other.
One of the main problems is dishes coming out of the appliance still dirty – which defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. It may be because you’re overloading the dishwasher, or the fact that the float switch or spray arm isn’t working properly.
Something else you might encounter in the future is water not draining properly from the appliance. You might well have a clogged drain or filter, which you can sort out yourself, but the drain pump might be broken or the sensor itself malfunctioning – in which case, you’ll need to arrange for fixed price appliance repairs to have the problem sorted out.
And then there’s the annoyance of your dishwasher not even starting. You should hear a humming sound as soon as you turn the appliance on and if you don’t, you could have a clogged pump, the motor may be sticking or the wiring has been affected somehow. These problems will all need a professional dishwasher repair service called out to solve the issue.
