Electric & Induction Hob Faults
If your hob is not turning on or has no power, you may have a tripped circuit breaker, a blown fuse, or loose wiring. Our engineers can track down the fault and get the power flowing again.
If the touch controls aren’t working, are displaying error codes, or simply seem to have a mind of their own, it’s usually because of a sensor fault or a fault in the control board or touch panel. Our engineers can replace the faulty part – no more ghost chefs.
If your induction hob is failing to detect pans that are definitely there, there’s likely a fault with the pan detection sensor. Our engineers can help the hob see sense.
If some of the rings are working and others are on strike, you may have a faulty heating element or a fault in the switch for that zone. Our engineers can pinpoint the faulty part and get it working properly again.
Gas Hob Faults
If the burner isn’t lighting, you might have a blocked jet, faulty ignition switch, or failed spark module. Our engineers can clear the blockage or replace the part depending on the fault.
A weak or lopsided flame can make cooking extremely slow. This fault can be caused by a blocked burner or a gas supply issue. Once our engineers have had a proper look, they can identify the faulty part before finding the best fix.
If your hob is clicking but won’t light, it likely has an ignition or spark module fault. Our engineers can replace it, so you’re not stuck listening to it try and fail.
Most of the time, when hobs will ignite but won’t stay lit, it’s because of a faulty thermocouple – a safety sensor that shuts off gas if it doesn’t detect a flame. Our engineers can replace the part and get the flame working again.
How Much Does a Hob Repair Cost?
Price is where we differ most from other appliance repair companies.
We want our customers to feel comfortable and confident when booking repairs, not dreading final costs, fearing unplanned add-ons and sneaky fees.
That’s why we take a fixed-price approach. When you book with us, you know exactly what you will be charged before the repairs begin. Costs start at £99.
If we cannot repair the machine, you’re only charged for the diagnostic fee. The difference (£59) is refunded to you. And if the machine repair costs more than we quoted, that’s our cost to absorb, not yours.

We Book a Callout
We organise for an engineer to come to your home. They will identify the fault and either repair it on the first visit or identify which parts to order before booking a follow-up appointment.
Enjoy your Repair Guarantee
Your repair is guaranteed for 30 days from the fix. In the unlikely event that the initial fault recurs within this time, you’re entitled to a free follow-up repair.

Is it worth repairing my hob or should I replace it?
Whether you should repair or replace depends on the fault and the age of the machine. As a rule of thumb, if the cost of repair is more than half the price of a new machine, it’s usually worth replacing instead. Our engineers will always give you honest advice based on what they find. If the hob is not worth fixing, they will tell you openly.

Do you offer a warranty on hob repairs?
Every one of our repairs is covered by our trusted Repair Guarantee. If the same fault recurs within 30 days, we’ll come back and fix it again, completely free of charge.

Do you charge for the call-out if you can’t fix the Hob?
If your hob is beyond repair, we only charge you for the diagnostic fee (£59), not the full repair cost. Our engineers will advise you once they have run the diagnostics.

Do you carry hob parts with you, or do you need to order them in?
Our engineers carry the most commonly needed parts, such as therocouples and ignition switches with them to fix many faults on the first visit. If a less common part is needed, we’ll order it in and book a prompt follow-up appointment.

How quickly can you come out to repair my hob?
We can often offer same and next-day appointments, but they’re offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need an urgent repair, let us know as early as possible.
