Why Repair, Rather than Replace?
Most washing machines break down because of just one broken part, while the rest of the machine still has plenty of life.
Replacing the broken part restores the machine’s function and extends its lifespan. It’s quick, better for the environment, and costs less than buying new.
Many people assume that repairs mean a long wait, but with our same and next-day slots, they are faster than a replacement.
When buying new, you have to go to shops, find a model, arrange delivery, and dispose of the old machine. It’s frustrating and time-consuming. When repairing, your machine can be back up and running the same day.
With a shorter wait time, lower costs, and less environmental impact, why wouldn’t you repair?

Common Washing Machine Faults We Fix
Welcome to the wonderful world of washing machine faults. Below are some of the most common problems and how we fix them.
Your washing machine isn’t meant to look like a paddling pool. If cycles are stopping early and water’s left in the drum, there might be a blockage, or you could need a replacement drainage pump.
Spin problems are never fun. Clothes come out sopping wet, and you have no idea whether they’re dirty or clean. If your drum won’t turn or the spin cycle keeps failing, you likely have a motor fault or a worn drive belt.
If you’ve got no water, you’ve got no wash. Slow filling or fill error codes usually point to a faulty water inlet valve. Replacing the part typically gets things flowing again.
If you’re consistently finding your machine in a puddle, you may need a replacement door seal.
If your machine has power but won’t start, shows a “door open” signal, or the lock is clicking open and closed, you might need a new locking system.
If your machine sounds like it’s trying to escape the utility room, you likely have an installation problem, worn shock absorbers, uneven flooring, or an unbalanced load. Our engineers will diagnose the exact cause on-site.
There are a few reasons why washing machines give up mid-cycle. There may be a problem with water flow, a blocked drain filter, or a faulty door lock. Our engineers can identify and fix the fault on-site.
A lukewarm wash rarely gets clothes feeling clean. If your machine isn’t heating the water effectively, you might have a faulty heating element, temperature gauge or sensor. The exact fix depends on which part is playing up.
Musty, stagnant water smells and mould around the machine seal are often caused by a buildup of detergent, fabric softener and trapped moisture that feeds bacteria. A specialist strip and clean gets things fresh again – because your washing machine shouldn’t smell like a swamp.
If your machine is making a racket while spinning, there’s probably an issue with the bearings. This is a major repair, usually requiring a new drum, and it’s one that most companies avoid. We offer it as part of our fixed-price repairs.
How Much Does a Washing Machine Repair Cost?
Price is where we differ most from other appliance repair companies.
We want our customers to feel comfortable and confident when booking repairs, not dreading final costs, unplanned add-ons and sneaky fees.
That’s why we take a fixed-price approach. When you book with us, you know exactly what you will be charged before the repairs begin. Our repair costs start at £99.
If we cannot repair the machine, you’re only charged for the diagnostic fee. The difference (£59) is refunded to you. And if the machine repair costs more than we quoted, that’s our cost to absorb, not yours.

The Process – Working with Repair & Maintain
Explain the Fault
Most people don’t know exactly what’s wrong with their machine, and that’s okay. Describe the fault you’re experiencing, share any error codes, and our team will be able to help.
We Book a Callout
We organise for an engineer to come to your home. They will identify the fault and either repair it on the first visit or identify which parts to order before booking a follow-up appointment.
Enjoy your Repair Guarantee
Your repair is guaranteed for 30 days from the fix. In the unlikely event that the initial fault recurs within this time, you’re entitled to a free follow-up repair.

Washing Machine Repair FAQs
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our washing machine repairs.
-
Is it worth repairing my washing machine or should I replace it?
It depends on the fault and the age of the machine. As a rule of thumb, if the cost of repair is more than half the price of a new machine, it’s usually worth replacing instead. Our engineers will always give you honest advice based on what they find. If the machine is not worth fixing, they will tell you openly.
-
Do you offer a warranty on washing machine repairs?
Every one of our repairs is covered by our trusted Repair Guarantee. If the same fault recurs within 30 days, we’ll come back and fix it again, completely free of charge.
-
Do you charge for the call-out if you can’t fix the washing machine?
If your machine is beyond repair, you’re only charged the diagnostic fee, not the full repair cost. Our engineers will advise you once they have run the diagnostics.
-
Do you carry washing machine parts with you, or do you need to order them in?
Our engineers carry the most commonly needed parts, such as drive belts and door seals, allowing them to fix many faults on the first visit. If a less common part is needed, we’ll order it in and book a prompt follow-up appointment.
-
How quickly can you come out to repair my washing machine?
We can often offer same and next-day appointments, but they’re offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need an urgent repair, let us know as early as possible.
-
What washing machine brands do you work on?
We service all of the UK’s favourite washing machine brands, including Samsung, LG, Bosch, Beko, Hotpoint, Hoover, AEG, Miele, Smeg, Neff, Zanussi, Russell Hobbs, Whirlpool, Indesit, and Candy.
